Privacy, plainly
This is a personal site. It has a live layer so visitors can see each other, and simple analytics so I can see what people enjoy. No ads, no selling data, no third-party trackers beyond what's listed here.
What other visitors can see
While you have the site open, other visitors see a random nickname (like "Calm Otter"), your cursor, which tile you're on, any reactions or messages you send, and your approximate city. Close the tab and you disappear.
What I can see
I see the same live view, plus your approximate city and country, the network you're on (for company networks, that can be the company name), device type, and the site that sent you, if any. I keep a short log of finished visits with those details and what you did on the page (for example, "won a series 4-2"). Visit logs are capped at the most recent 2,000.
What I don't collect
No names unless you type one into a game, no email addresses, no precise location. Your IP address is never stored; it's turned into a one-way hash used only for rate limits and blocking abuse.
Analytics
I use PostHog for page views and clicks, sent through this site's own domain. It's turned off if your browser sends Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control.
Leaderboard
If you add a name to the forecasting game, your name and score appear on the public leaderboard. Want it removed? Email me.
